In past floppy disks were used as external backup device, which hardly contain fewer than 2MB. Then technology changed and cd, dvd came as for backup appliance with huge space for data storage. Sooner after usb flash drive, memory card and external hard drive arrived with even beggar space for storage, nice and slim size, good reliability and great mobility. These devices have created huge market worldwide.

But technology has not stopped here, in last few years quite few well known web portals are offering cloud facilities for your data backup on their system. Some of them are offering free storage up to few gigabytes of data and if you want more than you can buy from them with small amount of charge. The great benefit of could base backup system are you do not have to purchase any external device. There is no fear to loss or theft of your device. You can access, share password protected folder with anybody and anywhere in the globe, and just you need interne connection.

These facilities are known for their mobility, compatibility with any equipment such as pc, laptop, tablets and even smart phones. These services are also helpful for our environment system, because of these facilities other external devices will not manufacture as much as were before.

I think cloud service will take places of external devices such as usb flash drive, memory cards and external hard drive, But it will not replace their space in overnight until everyone will have better internet connections, require knowledge and bit of training.
